Verizon is sending out Orbic Journey V, TCL Flip Pro, or Nokia 2720 V Flip phones. These aren’t the best phones out there, but they’re more than enough for users to take advantage of Verizon’s 4G LTE connection, most importantly because Verizon will soon retire its 3G CDMA network.
Alongside your flip phone, Verizon will also send you instructions on how to set up your device and get it ready, but you can still contact Verizon tech support if you need more assistance.
It’s also worth mentioning that, according to Verizon’s support page, your current plan won’t change, and you won’t have to pay any extra fees for your phone. You can check that web page if you have any more questions.

How to Get Your Free Verizon Phone
The best part about this deal is that you don’t need to do anything to get your new phone–as long as Verizon knows you’re still using an old phone that only supports Verizon’s 3G CDMA network. If that’s the case, Verizon will automatically send a new flip phone to your home.
If you decide you don’t want a new flip phone, you’ll need to contact Verizon by calling (800)-922-0204 and then asking to decline the free phone.
But if you decide you want something better than a regular flip phone, you’ll need to buy it yourself.
Just keep in mind that while you’ll be able to use your old 3G phone right now, it’ll become completely useless by the end of this year.
Verizon isn’t the only company shutting down its 3G networks. AT&T retired its 3G network earlier this year, and T-Mobile is set to do it in July 2022. Verizon is the last big communications company to retire its 3G network, but it’ll still happen by the end of 2022.
